Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 6 seed, advanced to the last four of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open by defeating Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 3 seed, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 on Friday.
Haddad Maia, ranked No 14, will face Swiss Belinda Bencic, the second seed, next.
The Brazilian has now won six straight matches against players ranked in the top 10, a streak that extends back to 2019.
The Brazilian won against Czech Marie Bouzkova (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) and edged out Kazakh qualifier Yulia Putintseva (6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (4)) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Rybakina, ranked No 10, beat Czech Karolina Pliskova (6-4, 6-2).
