Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Morocco Open by defeating Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl 6-1, 6-3 at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc in Rabat on Sunday evening.
Sherif, ranked No 43, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic and Argentinian Julia Riera next.
