Morocco Open: Bronzetti beats Grabher, wins first WTA title
Prior to this week, the Italian had lost 10 tour-level main-draw matches in a row
Italian Lucia Bronzetti won the Morocco Open tournament by edging out Austrian Julia Grabher 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc in Rabat on Saturday.
The Italian came from 3-1 down in the final set to win the title. The match lasted two hours and 48 minutes and helped Bronzetti took a 2-1 lead in her head-to-head with Grabher.
Prior to this week, the Italian had lost 10 tour-level main-draw matches in a row. She heads to Roland-Garros full of confidence as she takes on seventh seed Ons Jabeur in the first round.

Bronzetti, ranked No 102 in the world, defeated Swede Rebecca Peterson (6-4, 7-6 (4)), German Tatjana Maria, the No 8 seed (6-7 (1), 6-4, 7-5), American Alycia Parks, the No 4 seed (6-2, 6-0) and American Sloane Stephens, the second seed (6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Grabher, ranked No 74, beat Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure (6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-2), Cagla Buyukakcay (6-1, 7-6 (4)), Italian Martina Trevisan, the top seed (6-3 ret.) and Argentinian Julia Riera (6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (6)).
