Romanian Anca Todoni reached the last 8 of the Montreux Nestlé Open by beating Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6-3, 6-1 on Friday.
Todoni, ranked No 136, will play Latvian Darja Semenistaja next.
In the previous round, the 19-year-old Romanian won against Pole Maja Chwalinska (6-2, 6-4).
Jimenez Kasintseva, ranked No 182, defeated Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the top seed (6-4, 7-6 (4)) in the 32.
