Latvian Darja Semenistaja moved into the last eight of the Montreux Nestlé Open by edging out German Mona Barthel 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Friday.
Semenistaja, ranked No 134, will face Romanian Anca Todoni next.
The 21-year-old Latvian edged out Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Barthel, ranked No 176, won against No 6 seed Tamara Korpatsch (6-0, 6-2).
