Latvian Darja Semenistaja moved into the semi-finals of the Montreux Nestlé Open by edging out Romanian Anca Todoni 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 on Friday.
Semenistaja, ranked No 134, will face Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 7 seed, next.
The 21-year-old Latvian edged out Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) and German Mona Barthel (0-6, 6-3, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Todoni, ranked No 136, defeated Pole Maja Chwalinska (6-2, 6-4) and Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (6-3, 6-1).
