Brazilian Laura Pigossi beat Swiss wildcard Simona Waltert 6-2, 7-6 (2) to advance to the last 16 of the Montreux Nestle Open on Monday.

Pigossi, ranked No 141, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Celine Naef and Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 7 seed, next.
