Montreux Nestlé Open: Begu books spot in semi-finals
Irina-Camelia Begu won against Polina Kudermetova 6-3, 6-3 on Friday and will play the winner of the match between Romanian Anca Todoni and Latvian Darja Semenistaja in the next round

Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 7 seed, beat Russian Polina Kudermetova 6-3, 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Montreux Nestlé Open on Friday.
Begu, ranked No 130, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Anca Todoni and Latvian Darja Semenistaja next.
The 34-year-old Romanian won against Swiss Celine Naef (6-0, 6-3) and Brazilian Laura Pigossi (6-3, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Kudermetova, ranked No 169, edged out Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet, the No 3 seed (4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (4)) and defeated Romanian Miriam Bulgaru (3-6, 7-5, 6-3).
