Mexican Renata Zarazua, the second seed, defeated Romanian qualifier Gabriela Lee 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the last 8 of the Montevideo Open at the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday evening.
Zarazua, ranked No 128, will play Romanian Miriam Bulgaru, the No 6 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Mexican won against American qualifier Haley Giavara (6-0, 7-5).
Lee, ranked No 424, beat Uruguayan wildcard Lucia De Santa Ana (6-0, 6-1) in the previous round of the Uruguayan tournament.
