Monterrey Open: Dolehide moves into last eight, plays Zhu next
The American defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-2, 6-4 on Wednesday

American qualifier Caroline Dolehide advanced to the quarter-finals of the Monterrey Open by defeating Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-2, 6-4 at the Estadio GNP Seguros on Wednesday.
Dolehide, ranked No 206, will play Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 5 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Monterrey tournament, the American won against German Jule Niemeier (6-1, 6-0).
Schmiedlova, ranked No 100, had upset Czech Marie Bouzkova, the second seed (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the Monterrey tournament.
