Midland Open: Stearns moves into second round with double bagel
Peyton Stearns beat Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6-0, 6-0 on Monday night and will play the winner of the match between qualifier Victoria Hu and Hailey Baptiste in the next round
Peyton Stearns, the second seed, moved into the second round of the Midland Open by winning against Andorran lucky loser Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6-0, 6-0 at the Greater Midland Tennis Center on Monday.
The match took just 44 minutes to complete, with Stearns winning 53 of 75 points.
The American, ranked No 48, will play the winner of the match between qualifier Victoria Hu and Hailey Baptiste next.
