Midland Open: Navarro books spot in semi-finals

Top seed Emma Navarro advanced to the last four of the Midland Open by defeating No 7 seed Emina Bektas 6-2, 6-3 at the Greater Midland Tennis Center on Friday night.
Navarro, ranked No 42, will face Croat Jana Fett next.
Ahead of her victory, Emma Navarro won against lucky loser Chloe Beck (6-2, 6-3) and qualifier Robin Anderson (6-2, 6-1).
Bektas, ranked No 104, edged out wildcard Mccartney Kessler (2-6, 6-4, 7-5) and beat wildcard Katrina Scott (7-6 (7), 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Midland tournament.
