Midland Open: Fett fights back to beat Marino and reach quarter-finals

Croat Jana Fett moved into the quarter-finals of the Midland Open by defeating Canadian Rebecca Marino 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

Fett, ranked No 198, will face American Taylor Townsend, the No 4 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Midland tournament, the Croat won against Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono (7-5, 6-0).

Marino, ranked No 166, edged out Colombian Emiliana Arango (6-3, 6-7 (9), 7-5) in the first round of the Midland tournament.
