Miami Open: Badosa moves into third round; could play Rybakina next
Paula Badosa won against Laura Siegemund 7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-2 on Thursday evening and will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 10 seed, and Russian Anna Kalinskaya in the next round
Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 21 seed, reached the third round of the Miami Open by defeating German qualifier Laura Siegemund 7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-2 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday.
Badosa, ranked No 29, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 10 seed, and Russian Anna Kalinskaya next.
Siegemund, ranked No 114, won against Egyptian Mayar Sherif (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Miami tournament.
