Miami Open: Putintseva makes third round
Yulia Putintseva defeated Liudmila Samsonova 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 on Thursday evening. She’ll play Belgian lucky loser Greet Minnen in the next round

Kazakh Yulia Putintseva moved into the third round of the Miami Open by winning against Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 13 seed, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday evening.
Putintseva, ranked No 68, will play Belgian lucky loser Greet Minnen next.
The Kazakh edged out Spaniard Cristina Bucsa (6-2, 3-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Miami tournament.
