Miami Open: Gauff powers past Dodin to book spot in last 16
Coco Gauff defeated Oceane Dodin 6-4, 6-0 and will face the winner of the match between Caroline Garcia and Naomi Osaka in the next round
American Coco Gauff, the No 3 seed, beat French lucky loser Oceane Dodin 6-4, 6-0 to reach the last 16 of the Miami Open at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Gauff was trailing 4-2 in the opening set before winning ten games in a row to accelerate to a one-sided victory against the Frenchwoman.
Gauff, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 23 seed, and Japanese Naomi Osaka next.
The 20-year-old American defeated Argentinian qualifier Nadia Podoroska (6-1, 6-2) in the previous round of the Miami tournament.
During the second round of the Miami tournament, Dodin, ranked No 84, won against Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (6-4, 3-6, 6-3).
