Miami Open: Azarenka beats Boulter to make quarter-finals

Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, the No 27 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Miami Open by defeating No 24 seed Katie Boulter 7-5, 6-1 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Monday evening.
Azarenka, ranked No 32, will play Kazakh Yulia Putintseva next.
The 34-year-old Belarusian edged out American Peyton Stearns (7-5, 3-6, 6-4) and won against Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 7 seed (6-4, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Miami tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Boulter, ranked No 30, benefited from the abandonment of wildcard Brenda Fruhvirtova (7-6 (5), 1-0) and won against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 11 seed (6-2, 6-3).
