Colombian qualifier Emiliana Arango reached the second round of the Miami Open by defeating German Tatjana Maria 6-2, 6-3 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Arango, ranked No 123, will play No 31 seed Leylah Fernandez next.
