Miami Open: Andreescu beats Kenin in battle of former Grand Slam champs to reach last 16

Canadian Bianca Andreescu moved into the last 16 of the Miami Open by defeating American Sofia Kenin 6-4, 6-4 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday in a battle between two former Grand Slam winners.
Andreescu, ranked No 31 in the world and the US Open champion in 2019, needed one hour and 33 minutes to beat Kenin, the 2020 Australian Open champion.
The Canadian will face the winner of the match between Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 18 seed, and Swiss Belinda Bencic, the No 9 seed, next.
The 22-year-old won against Emma Raducanu (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) and edged out Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 7 seed (5-7, 6-3, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Miami tournament, Kenin, ranked No 164 in the world, beat Australian Storm Hunter (6-0, 7-6 (5)) and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 28 seed (6-3, 6-4).
