Mérida Open: Tomljanovic survives Mandlik challenge
Ajla Tomljanovic beat Elizabeth Mandlik 7-6 (9), 6-1 on Wednesday night and will play the winner of the match between Swiss Jil Teichmann and Russian qualifier Anastasia Tikhonova in the next round

Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, the No 3 seed, moved into the second round of the Mérida Open by winning against American qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik 7-6 (9), 6-1 at the Yucatan Country Club on Monday night.
Tomljanovic, ranked No 85, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Jil Teichmann and Russian qualifier Anastasia Tikhonova next.
