Mérida Open: Siniakova advances as Tsurenko retires
Katerina Siniakova benefited from the abandonment of Lesia Tsurenko (7-5) on Tuesday night and will face Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure in the next round

Czech Katerina Siniakova, the No 4 seed, moved into the second round of the Mérida Open when Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko retired at the Yucatan Country Club on Tuesday night.
Siniakova, ranked No 47, led 7-5 when Tsurenko, ranked No 100, pulled out at the Yucatan Country Club on Tuesday night.
The Czech will play Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure next.
