Mérida Open: Li puts on dominant display over Teichmann to make the semi-finals

American Ann Li won against Swiss Jil Teichmann 6-1, 6-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Mérida Open at the Yucatan Country Club on Friday evening.
Li, ranked No 111, will face the winner of the match between Serb Nina Stojanovic and Russian Polina Kudermetova next.
The American beat Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 8 seed (6-0, 6-4) and Croat Antonia Ruzic (6-2, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Teichmann, ranked No 153, won against Russian qualifier Anastasia Tikhonova (6-1, 6-4) and Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, the No 3 seed (W/O).
