Mérida Open: Korneeva reaches second round

Russian Alina Korneeva advanced to the second round of the Mérida Open by defeating American Alycia Parks 6-3, 6-1 at the Yucatan Country Club on Monday night.
Korneeva, ranked No 254, will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko and Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 5 seed, next.
