Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz advanced to the last eight of the Megasaray Hotels Open 1 by winning against German Ella Seidel 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday.
Romero Gormaz, ranked No 157, will face the winner of the match between Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva and Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Spaniard beat Chinese Sijia Wei, the No 8 seed (6-4, 6-4).
Seidel, ranked No 123, won against Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva (7-5, 6-0) in the previous round.
