Chinese Xiyu Wang, the No 4 seed, reached the last 16 of the Makarska Open by winning against Croat qualifier Sara Svetac 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 on Wednesday evening.
Wang, ranked No 61, will face the winner of the match between Croat Lucija Ciric Bagaric and German Ella Seidel next.
