Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean advanced to the quarter-finals of the Makarska Open by defeating Romanian Miriam Bulgaru 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday.
Jeanjean, ranked No 148, will play American Katie Volynets, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Frenchwoman won against Croat wildcard Tena Lukas (6-2, 6-2).
Bulgaru, ranked No 199, beat Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the top seed (7-6 (6), 6-2) in the previous round.
