Chinese Yue Yuan moved into the last 8 of the Makaraska Open by beating Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean 6-0, 6-4 at Tennis Center Makarska on Thursday.
Yuan, ranked No 116, will face the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, and Belarusian wildcard Kristina Dmitruk next.
The Chinese won against Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 8 seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-0) in the previous round of the Makarska tournament.
In the previous round of the Makarska tournament, Jeanjean, ranked No 124, won against qualifier Lina Gjorcheska (6-4, 6-4).
