Italian Jasmine Paolini, the second seed, defeated Slovak qualifier Rebecca Sramkova 6-3, 6-4 to move into the final of the Makaraska Open at Tennis Center Makarska on Saturday.
Paolini, ranked No 53, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 5 seed, and Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, next.
The Italian won against Croat Antonia Ruzic (6-4, 6-3), Ukrainian qualifier Katarina Zavatska (6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (10)) and Croat Ana Konjuh (W/O) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Makarska tournament, Sramkova, ranked No 222, beat Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic (2-6, 6-1, 6-2), American Peyton Stearns, the No 4 seed (6-3, 7-5) and Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl, the No 6 seed (7-6 (8), 5-7, 7-5).
