Madrid Open: Keys advances to third round
The American will take on the winner of the match between Japanese Naomi Osaka and Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 15 seed, in the next round

American Madison Keys, the No 18 seed, reached the third round of the Madrid Open by winning against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu 7-6 (3), 7-6 (6) at the Caja Magica on Thursday.
Keys, ranked No 20, will face the winner of the match between Japanese Naomi Osaka and Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 15 seed, next.
Begu, ranked No 128, beat wildcard Linda Fruhvirtova (6-4, 7-6) in the previous round of the Madrid tournament.
