Madrid Open: Fernandez knocked out in round of 32
Ons Jabeur edged out Leylah Fernandez 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 on Saturday afternoon and will face Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 9 seed, in the next round

Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 8 seed, edged out Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 32 seed, 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of the Madrid Open at the Caja Magica on Saturday.
Jabeur, ranked No 9, will face Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 9 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Madrid tournament, the Tunisian won against Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-4, 5-7, 6-3).
Fernandez, ranked No 35, beat Russian Anastasia Potapova (7-5, 6-3) in the second round of the Madrid tournament.
