L&T Mumbai Open: Teichmann ends Bhamidipaty’s run to reach last four
The Swiss will face the winner of the match between Indian qualifier Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi and Japanese qualifier Mei Yamaguchi in the next round

Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 5 seed, ended the run of Indian wildcard Shrivalli Bhamidipaty 6-2, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the L&T Mumbai Open on Friday.
Teichmann, ranked No 117, will play the winner of the match between Indian qualifier Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi and Japanese qualifier Mei Yamaguchi on Saturday.
The Swiss benefited from the retirement of American Emina Bektas (6-1) and defeated Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono (6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the week, Bhamidipaty, ranked No 325, won against Russian Elena Pridankina (6-1, 6-0) and Serb qualifier Aleksandra Krunic (6-4, 6-0) to reach her first WTA $125K level quarter-final.
