Swiss Celine Naef reached the last four of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo by beating Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the top seed, 6-3, 6-3.
Naef, ranked No 167, will play Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet next.
The 18-year-old Swiss won against Russian Anastasia Zakharova (6-2, 6-1) and Australian Daria Saville, the No 5 seed (6-2, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Burel, ranked No 44, defeated Elsa Jacquemot (6-3, 6-3) and Zeynep Sonmez (6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-3).
