Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 5 seed, defeated Harriet Dart 6-2, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Les Championnats Banque Nationale de Granby on Tuesday evening.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 64, will face the winner of the match between Russian Daria Kasatkina, the top seed, and Pole Magdalena Frech next.
The Spaniard won against Swede Rebecca Peterson (6-2, 6-1) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Dart, ranked No 93, won against Belgian Maryna Zanevska (6-4, 7-5).
