German Tatjana Maria reached the last eight of the Les Championnats Banque Nationale de Granby by winning against Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 4 seed, 6-3, 6-2 on Wednesday evening.
Maria, ranked No 92, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Diane Parry and Czech Tereza Martincova, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 35-year-old German beat Argentinian Nadia Podoroska (7-5, 6-1).
Bondar, ranked No 56, won against Canadian qualifier Kayla Cross (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round.
