Marta Kostyuk books spot in semi-finals at Granby

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 10 seed, won against Canadian Rebecca Marino 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 to advance to the last four of the Les Championnats Banque Nationale de Granby on Thursday night.
Kostyuk, ranked No 72, will face Australian Daria Saville, the No 9 seed, next.
The 20-year-old reached her fourth career semi-final, and her first of 2022. Kostyuk, a former world No 49, has lost all three of her previous semi-finals.
The Ukrainian has won six of her seven matches across all levels in North America this summer. At Cincinnati she qualified for the main draw and defeated Camila Giorgi in the opening round, before falling in three sets to Jessica Pegula.
Earlier in the tournament, the 20-year-old Ukrainian beat Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-1, 7-5) and Canadian Marina Stakusic (6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-1).
Marino, ranked No 112, won against Victoria Mboko (6-3, 6-3) and Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 3 seed (4-6, 6-1, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
