Bencic tops Parry to reach second round at Lausanne

Swiss Belinda Bencic, the second seed, won against Frenchwoman Diane Parry 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to reach the second round of the Lausanne Open at Tennis Club du Stade-Lausanne on Tuesday evening.
Bencic, ranked No 13, will play Swiss wildcard Susan Bandecchi next.
The Swiss is the highest seed remaining after top-seeded American Danielle Collins was defeated by Swiss wild card Simona Waltert, 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(6).
After dropping the opener and falling behind 1-0 in the second set, Bencic won 12 of the final 15 games against the 19-year-old Frenchwoman, including the final six games of the match.
