Second seed Panna Udvardy beat Reka Luca Jani 6-0, 7-6 (6) to advance to the quarter-finals of the Lasi Open at Baza Sportivă Ciric in Iasi on Wednesday evening.
Udvardy, ranked No 93, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic, the No 6 seed, and Romanian Alexandra Ignatik next.
Panna Udvardy won against Greek Despina Papamichail (6-3, 7-5) in the previous round.
Jani, ranked No 135, had beaten Romanian wildcard Briana Szabo (6-1, 6-2) in the first round.
