German Nastasja Schunk defeated Croat wildcard Antonia Ruzic 6-3, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Lasi Open at Baza Sportivă Ciric in Iasi on Monday afternoon.
Schunk, ranked No 146, will play the winner of the match between Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 5 seed, and Spaniard Rebeka Masarova next.
