Ladies Open Lausanne: Parry storms into semis with confident win over Cornet

Ninth seed Diane Parry moved into the semi-finals of the Ladies Open Lausanne by beating No 7 seed Alize Cornet 6-3, 6-2 on Friday afternoon.
Parry, ranked No 90, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed, and Frenchwoman Clara Burel next.
Ahead of her victory, Diane Parry won against wildcard Fiona Ferro (7-5, 2-6, 6-2) and Montenegrin Danka Kovinic (6-4, 7-5).
Cornet, ranked No 70, defeated Swiss Viktorija Golubic (3-6, 6-1, 6-3) and edged out Swiss Jil Teichmann (6-1, 1-6, 6-4) in the previous rounds.
