Ladies Open Lausanne: Burel into semis as Bogdan retires in second set

Frenchwoman Clara Burel advanced to the last four of the Ladies Open Lausanne when Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed, retired on Friday evening.
Burel, ranked No 84, led 6-3, 1-0 when Bogdan, ranked No 39, pulled out on Friday evening.
The 22-year-old Frenchman will play No 9 seed Diane Parry next.
Clara Burel won against Serb Olga Danilovic (6-4, 6-4) and American Emma Navarro, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, the Romanian defeated Swiss Simona Waltert (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Slovenian qualifier Dalila Jakupovic (6-0, 5-7, 6-3).
