Hungarian Anna Bondar has knocked out 16-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (3), 6-3, advancing to the last eight of the Ladies Open Lausanne.
Bondar, ranked No 155, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo and Slovenian Tamara Zidansek next.
Ahead of her victory, the Hungarian defeated Spaniard Aliona Bolsova (6-1, 6-3).
Andreeva, ranked No 64, beat Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska (6-0, 6-2) in the previous round.
