Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 5 seed, beat Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the second round of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Monday afternoon.
Masarova, ranked No 91, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and German Anna-Lena Friedsam next.
