Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot beat Austrian Sinja Kraus 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Thursday.
Jacquemot, ranked No 157, will play Serb Olga Danilovic next.
The 20-year-old Frenchman edged out No 4 seed Harriet Dart (1-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the La Bisbal d’Emporda tournament.
In the previous round, Kraus, ranked No 201, won against Japanese Moyuka Uchijima (3-6, 6-4, 6-3).
