Maria Lourdes Carle defeated Spaniard Rebeka Masarova in the final of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open to win the title
Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 6 seed, lifted the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open trophy by beating Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 5 seed, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bislab d’Emporda.
Carle, ranked No 98, defeated Sara Bejlek (6-1, 6-3), Andorran qualifier Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (6-2, 1-6, 6-2), Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva (6-4, 6-4) and Hungarian Dalma Galfi (6-1, 1-1 ret.) in the previous rounds of the La Bislab d’Emporda tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Masarova, ranked No 91, defeated Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro (2-6, 6-1, 6-1), Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-3, 6-2), Slovak Rebecca Sramkova (6-2, 4-6, 6-2) and Serb Olga Danilovic (6-3, 6-2).
