L & T Mumbai Open: Teichmann moves into last eight

Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 5 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the L & T Mumbai Open by defeating Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-3 on Wednesday.
Teichmann, ranked No 117, will face the winner of the match between Serb qualifier Aleksandra Krunic and Indian wildcard Shrivalli Bhamidipaty next.
Ahead of her victory, the Swiss benefited from the abandonment of American Emina Bektas (6-1).
Hartono, ranked No 174, benefited from the abandonment of Japanese Kyoka Okamura (3-6, 7-6 (4), 5-0) in the previous round.
