Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 5 seed, ended the brilliant run of 15-year-old Indian qualifier Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi as she won 6-3, 6-1 to reach the final of the L & T Mumbai Open on Saturday.
Teichmann, ranked No 117, will face Thai Mananchaya Sawangkaew, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Swiss won against American Emina Bektas (6-1 ret.), Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono (6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-3) and Indian wildcard Shrivalli Bhamidipaty (6-2, 6-2).
Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi won against Belarusian lucky loser Iryna Shymanovich (6-4, 6-1), Kazakh Zarina Diyas (6-3, 3-2 ret.) and Japanese qualifier Mei Yamaguchi (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
