Krejcikova returns to top 10, Kenin on verge of top 50 – WTA rankings update
The Czech ended a four-match losing streak as she won her sixth career singles title in San Diego
Barbora Krejcikova is back in the world’s top 10.
The Czech returned to form after a run of four straight defeats, including losing in the first round at the US Open, beating another former slam champion Sofia Kenin to win the title in San Diego at the weekend.
Krejcikova’s sixth career title (she also won the doubles in San Diego), moved her up three places to No 10.
Jessica Pegula was the only other climber inside the top 10, moving back up to No 4, swapping places with Elena Rybakina. Caroline Garcia drops one place, to No 11.
The biggest mover in the top 100, though, is Kenin, the former Australian Open champion moving up 40 places to No 53, more evidence she’s heading in the right direction again after a difficult last couple of years.
China’s Lin Zhu is up to a career-high No 31 after reaching a final in Osaka while former top 10 player Dabielle Collins moves up nine places to No 34.
