Raducanu reaches Korea Open quarter-finals
The former US Open champ beat Yue Yuan 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday
Emma Raducanu won against Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 8 seed, 6-4, 6-3 to move into the last eight of the Korea Open at the Olympic Park Tennis Center in Seoul on Thursday.
Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, produced an impressive fight against the Chinese, smashing 11 aces and converting six break points. The match notably extended beyond the two-hour mark.
Raducanu, ranked No 70, will play the winner of the match between Russian Daria Kasatkina, the top seed, and American Hailey Baptiste next.
In the previous round of the Seoul tournament, Emma Raducanu beat American Peyton Stearns (7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)).
Yuan, ranked No 40, defeated Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the Seoul tournament.
