Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 7 seed, moved into the second round of the Korea Open by winning against American qualifier Varvara Lepchenko 7-5, 3-6, 6-0 at the Olympic Park Tennis Center in Seoul on Monday.
Alexandrova, ranked No 31, will face the winner of the match between Russian lucky loser Polina Kudermetova and Australian qualifier Priscilla Hon next.
