Japan Open: Putintseva through to quarter-finals
The Kazakh won against Valeria Savinykh 6-1, 6-2 in the second round of the Japan Open on Tuesday

Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 6 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships by defeating Russian qualifier Valeria Savinykh 6-1, 6-2 on Wednesday.
Putintseva, ranked No 88, won against Russian Diana Shnaider (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Savinykh, ranked No 171, won against German Anna-Lena Friedsam (6-4, 1-6, 6-3).
